Laboratory testing: THC, batches and safety

A laboratory report answers a specific question about a particular sample or batch.

CannabisGesetz.ch editorial deskPublished 7 Nov 2026Reviewed 7 Nov 2026

Context

For import checks, the certificate must correspond to the shipment. Swissmedic’s enforcement guidance sets out the relevant laboratory and batch-specific evidence requirements.

What to check

Agree on the analyte, product matrix and form of evidence before ordering a test. A total THC result does not replace category-specific safety tests or a licence.
